Why Aset Ka?
It's a pretty simple question, but I have a feeling the answer isn't simple at all.
I've read the Aset Ka website and the Asetian Bible, but besides a complete fascination with Ancient Egypt, why do most people want to be in Aset Ka? Why not be a trend setter or a leader and make something new and modern.

Re: Why Aset Ka?
Why make something new and potentially weak wen there is such powerful ancient magick right there available to be learned, tapped and explored? Not to mention that one can’t simply create something like an entire magickal tradition as is the Aset Ka. This is the simple reply because the actual reply would take me a long time to write. People are not drawn to Aset Ka and Asetianism because it’s a trend or because it’s cool or because it’s powerful. It’s a spiritual alignment. Most of us are not finding the Asetian culture for the first time, we are returning to a quest and path that we have explored many times before in different lifetimes.

Thanks Jonathan, I don't mean to disrespect the Aset Ka or others views, I was more curious than anything. You answered my question.

No problem at all, you didn't disrespect and questions are welcome. Even if you disagree and hold different views that is fine. We're not closed-minded around here and respect other paths. Everyone is different!

Re: Why Aset Ka?
Don’t take what I’m about to say as harsh or overly critical, but if you’re asking that question you didn’t really comprehend what the Aset Ka means.
So it’s a question that has no possible answer because the actual answer hides behind further unveiling what Asetianism is. You won’t see that magick just by reading a site or studying a book. You have to wield it.
The only way is seeing that flame of magick for yourself and you haven’t experienced it, otherwise you would not be asking that question.

Someone should point out that reaching the level of wielding such magick takes long years of study, practice and mastery. Aset Ka is no simple path. Many fail trying while others fall into despair or the illusions of their own unbalanced ego.

Beautiful words. Spiritual alignment is how I can describe it too. It is something that "is" , rather than "trying to be" ... By trying I mean the attempts to fit a system, just to be part of something, like you said ... falling in some traps of illusions, for example,... or ego.

I am going to bring this question to something more general.
Not only "Why Aset Ka" , but why people seek something and go in this or that direction ? why do people choose this or that system?
Like Jonathan said, it is a matter of spiritual alignment, when teh connection is real. It may be a matter of ego when the idea is "being part of something" because of the "cool factor."
one can’t simply create something like an entire magickal tradition as is the Aset Ka
Creating things, inside occultism is not that simple. Unfortunatley we have been going through an explosion of houses, groups, orders, that are trying to "create" things. People wanting to bring "new" traditions, and systems, workshops, courses and lectures that are, in reality an outrage to something that is Sacred.
Why reinvent the wheel?

I completely agree with not re-inventing the wheel. Thanks!
