Egyptian inspired music?
Do you know any good Egyptian inspired music?
I dont care if they sing on ancient egypt, play music with instruments from that time or if its the orchestral powerful music like in the Mummy or Night on Museum 2 when they first encountered the-white-egyptian-pharaoh-that-speak-with-english-accent.
But I would actually prefer the powerful music!
Anything works as long as I can get into it and imagine.
Any tips?
NOTE: Ive heard the soundtrack from the Mummy, not easy to actualy get into it...

Re: Egyptian inspired music?
I like the music in Victoria's videos a lot. Also, this one, while not Egyptian necessarily, I've come to enjoy. It has more of an Oriental feel to it, and is techno-ish:

Re: Egyptian inspired music?
you might check out a duo called Bella Sonus on Amazon. One recorded in 2000 called Enamoured and another recorded in 2006 named Bella Sonus.
But one I have, called "Enchanted" by Bella Sonus, was recorded earlier than 2000 and I have a copy I made of it from someone I know. I cannot find any trace of that listed anyplace. If you are lucky enough to trace it down I think it may be what you described to create the mood for you.

Another I found that I am sure you will enjoy is a CD by Steven Halpern called Initiation-Inside the Great Pyramid.
From the back cover.....
For thousands of years, secret mystery schools have known that the Great Pyramid was not a big burial monument for a dead pharaoh, but rather, a multi-dimensional stargate for initiation and transformation.
I first visited Egypt in 1980. It was a life changing journey. I returned in 1981 with my recording engineer. On three separate occasions, we were granted unprecedented private access.
The result is an one-of-a-kind recording that transports you inside the majestic King's Chamber on the magic carpet of sound. As I tuned in to the energy of ancient ceremonies, sacred chants began to channel through me.
Using state of the art recording equipment, the higher harmonics and deeply reverberating acoustic properties of the room were captured on tape. Listen with headphones---and the sounds may stimulate long-dormant memories and visions of your own.
A special bonus: The ten minute meditation lets you fully resonate with the incredible power of the Silence itself. Light a candle......close your eyes, and journey back through time on the wings of sound.
From Steve Halpern

Re: Egyptian inspired music?
It may or may not be what you're looking for, but some of the songs from the Age of Conan MMO for the region of Stygia might be worth trying to find and/or download.

If I think of any more I'll let you know.

You might also like to check out "Music in the Age of the Pyramids" by Rafael PĂ©rez Arroyo. There are some impressive hymns inspired on the wall engravings from the Pyramids, though most of the songs are inspired on Hathor.

Re: Egyptian inspired music?
Azam Ali & her husband multi-instrumentalist Loga Ramin Torkian live in LA but are relocating to Canada and quitting the music business temporarily (I hope) they will be raising their son Iman there in Canada & a 2nd home in Istanbul.
They have expressed their disgust with how the music business exists today and I would have to agree.
