The Oracle of the Pharaohs Empty The Oracle of the Pharaohs

Post by Elaina 16.03.09 10:07

Hey, my friend J who is Wiccan had been reading up on Asetianism and the Asetian Bible. She found that though we live for Aset we also study other magiks and paths of life.
Being my great love of Aset and everything Kemetic, she gave me a gift. The Cards of Ra-Maat.
I have not had a chance to really look at them and I wanted to know if anyone here knew anything about them or had owned or used the Cards of Ra-Maat before.
I have had a chance to read the Oracle of the Pharaohs (the book that came with the deck) and I have been quite impressed on the cards and the meanings.
I just wondered if anyone else had read or used the cards or had any information on them.

The Oracle of the Pharaohs Empty Re: The Oracle of the Pharaohs

The Oracle of the Pharaohs/ The cards of Ra-Maat are a deck of cards that some have considered a Tarot deck but compared together I have seen it is not so. The Deck is similar but was used for different reasons to the Egyptians for it tells more about your past and present and helps you in how you can work with both to assist yourself or others in the future. I have been meditating and learning about them since I received them. According to J most Wiccan's will not delve into them they would rather use the Tarot for fortune telling, which makes sense because the cards of Ra-Maat are more guidance from the gods than actual fortune telling.
I have had them for only a little bit but after much meditation and wondering about it, I decided to give them a try. I did a mock set up for my mate D. He shuffles the cards and goes through the entire process before I ever touch them, that way the cards speak for him, but to me apparently. He hands the deck back to me and I lay them out appropriately. I was skeptical at first but as the cards fell, it was as if I could see his whole life leading up to this point. It was a very strange feeling and even now I have a hard time describing it. I told him what the cards said about his past and he looked shell-shocked. I told him about things in his past he had never told me and situations that he had never told anyone outside his closest friends. I told him about how he was feeling in the here and now and what was causing the stress for him and how it was affecting us both, and that he seemed conflicted about a choice he was wanting to make but didnt know if he should. Again he was speechless. The future was cloudy but the book said that would be the case with anyone that really is independant, spontanious and makes their own way, which actually is how the cards fell.
All in all it was very enlightening to me to learn so much about him that I didnt know before. We had fun with it and it brought us closer which I hadnt expected. He says I should pursue this since they seem to speak to me so and he says that it may be my conection to the Kemetic that they speak to me at all. I do not know if it is my constant wanting of truth that brought the cards of Ra-Maat to me since she is the godess of truth.
I guess I will find out as I continue to learn and grow.
