A Human Tattooing the Dark Mark
I am back with yet another strange question. I hope it does not bother anyone.
I was staring at the image on the front cover of the Asetian Bible, the Dark Mark, and as everyone here can understand me, it is one very beautiful, moving and deep sigil. But a very unpleasant question came to my mind... even though I have two questions about the Dark Mark but rather create yet another post for that one since it is quite unrelated.
Well, I imagined something and a question came to mind. What if a human tattoos the Dark Mark on their wrist? Despite the deep disrespect, and even self-disrespect... would anything 'happen'? I mean... the symbol is so powerful, so if it was tattooed on a non-Asetian's wrist, would anything change in them or happen to them?

Dreamer, anyone bothered by your questions needs to remember how, at some point, they also asked questions that appeared elementary. In reality, all questions are worthwhile - both to those asking and those replying.
To my limited understanding, the Dark Mark is an eternal branding of the soul as Asetian. It is the deliverance of the essence of Her Highness Aset to an unawaken spirit - the joyous and forever bonding of that soul with Her.
I would doubt that the mere imprinting of a look alike sigil would have any affect on an imposter who would perform such a sacrilege. However, this is only my opinion.

Re: A Human Tattooing the Dark Mark
I believe the symbol would draw some energies of power, but it would seem entirely more likely that there is a much more complicated process of spiritual bounds that takes place when someone truly receives the sacred mark. Likely there is a cleansing ritual, then a drawing of blood to demonstrate your eternal devotion to Aset and her children, then the tattooing in a very ritualistic manner, starting with certain parts of the mark, then ending with the wings unfurling around the Ankh, giving it the divine protection and devotion to Aset. This is my personal speculation of course. I'm certain it goes differently, but it would without a doubt entail a complicated and moving process. I think doing it yourself would be a pointless endeavor, as it is not imbued with the proper energies. It merely would remind one of the symbol.
I would say, from my own personal view of things, that it would be better to never try to initiate the energies of Aset by yourself. It could potentially be dangerous for your health, if unwanted energies decide to reside within the mark.

Re: A Human Tattooing the Dark Mark
Again, I must agree with Phoenix. The Dark Mark is far more than just a tattoo, it is a deep engraving on the Soul. If a human tattoos the sigil, it will have no effect whatsoever, being only a mere drawing on the skin and nothing else. Not to mention the lack of respect and stupidity of such act. I actually wonder if there are such impostors out there. But given all sorts of people that continuously copy the Asetian tradition, the Asetian work and literally plagiarize their knowledge, I would not be surprised if a few ignorants would have done so.
Now on a less serious note... maybe someday we will see the kids from House Kheperu coming up with something like "Hey wait! We also used to have a Dark Mark when back in Egypt. Oh yes, yes... we created the Dark Mark. The Asetians just copied us! Now lets all go to a party club get drunk as we spend the full night talking about them..."

Also, now that I give it a deeper thought and also in tune with Daniel's ideas and post... I would say that despite all the obvious nothing of a human doing a Dark Mark, maybe it could have some metaphysical implications. But we are entering the realms of pure speculation now. At some point, being such a powerful sigil and exclusively Asetian in nature, it may have metaphysical protections and it could, and I say just maybe, harm the subtle body of someone that bears it without permission from Aset. What do you all think about it?

I would think so... it makes sense. But most of all it would be stupidity and disrespect for anyone ignorant enough to bare the Dark Mark without the permission of the Aset or any reason behind it.

This is so hilarious... you seem to know how they are, very well, Jonathan.

We recently had a nice example of an ignorant tattooing it on their skin, or at least claiming to, and well... nothing significant happened, the being simply was humiliated and condemned. The Dark Mark is something that may move us with its beauty, but it belongs only to the Asetian Family. Its true magick is seen only by their eyes.
