Selene - Introduction

Hello Vampirism Forum.

I am Selene and I’m from Europe. My occult background is traditional witchcraft, the cunning path and lunar sorcery. I have practical experience with energy work, ritual magick and theurgy. Spiritually I consider myself Asetianist on the path of Aset Ka. I tend to have a strong intuition and perception which can be an useful tool but also a curse at times, as seeing certain things and knowing can be problematic. I can be a staunch traditionalist in certain areas and that sometimes gets me into trouble with new agers but it should be all good. lol

I have some interest in the aspects of vampirism but I'm usually more focused on the magickal elements and those of advanced metaphysics, as well as the mysteries of initiation. I also have a personal passion for the grimoire traditions with their many paths and hidden gateways, which I dedicate much of my time in studying.

I'm not much of a forum person lately due to its static nature so I might observe and lurk but we'll see. This seems to be an active community with a long and established presence on the web so that's interesting as most forums have died with the advent of exhibitionist and often toxic social networks.

I hope that this intro is adequate and to get along with you all.

Yes, I am also on Discord. You’re the retired aerospace physicist with a passion for astronomy correct? I am part of a small private coven in Britain but we aren’t locked into a lineage, even though some of us are initiates of Sabbatic Craft, others of the Clan of Tubal Cain. I have been associated with a larger organization in the past but I very much prefer the solitary craft at this point in my life and more specialized work within a smaller tight coven. I find that also aligns better with the difficult initiations through the soul deserts of Asetianism.

How about you, have you been involved with any European groups on the arte?

Yes, that’s me. Astronomy is my first love. I know a couple of people in the CTC, Shani Oates and Old Richard. I was once active in the US pagan movement, but now I pretty much just practice my craftwork alone however, I still meet occasionally with one of my shamanic drumming groups to do some journey work. Nice meeting you.

Nice meeting you as well. Speaking of Shani, do you have any input that you wish to share on her latest Wolfs-Head Óðinn, The Ecstatic God of Tethers and Skin-Turning? I’ve been eyeing it for a while but I didn’t go through volume one. Seems like an interesting account on the magick of the berserkir and Nordic Heathenism.

That one is new and I haven’t picked it up yet. It’s on my short list of books to read. Although I can’t say I have extraordinary familiarity with the northern tradition, I do fancy it.

I am also interested in astronomy especially relating to the field of occult so if you would like to share some insight around some ideas of your own or others or start a thread to begin such discussions... I would partake!
