what's with Crop Circles?
Ok...some of you must have heard about the recent spate of new crop circles popping up in just about every barley field in the UK at the moment. From a jellyfish, to a dragonfly with incredibly intricate wing formations, to a phoenix rising from the ashes (both in same field on consecutive days).
I just wanted to ask what peoples views are on crop circles?
I know this doesnt seem immediately related to Asetianism or indeed even Vampirism to some...but the symbolism being used recently is.
And no...I'm not an avid follower of such things, but since the jellyfish one turned up in a field only a few miles away from where I live, I decided to go and have a look, and have to admit, it's quite impressive.

Re: what's with Crop Circles?
Here lately Ive seen some strange things in the sky but i haven't told anyone because i didn't think they would believe me.
Re: what's with Crop Circles?
Talibah, that is definitely a very interesting subject. I have heard about this sudden sprout of crop circles in UK, and it's impressive. Being there must have been quite an experience.
I don't really know much on the subject, not enough to have a formed opinion, but I look forward to what others might have to say.
In what way do you think these late designs (jellyfish, dragonfly, ying/yang, phoenix) represent vampiric symbols?
Manwolf, what would those tihings be?

Nothing specific per se, but the recent symbols seem to point towards re-birth of sorts. Now, I know that sounds a little far fetched, and I am in no way suggesting that these have any specific Asetian involvement - but since true vampirism is based around birth and re-birth, I thought (at least personally) it was apt.
There have also been other crop circles which have a startling similarity to the wings of Aset..(similar to the point of exact). I'll see if I can find a picture of it.
Also, there have been circles that represent other Egyptian symbols too.
it just seems like a lot of bother to go to, for simple hoaxers, to duplicate such symbolism including things like the julia set, which most people arent going to understand.

Re: what's with Crop Circles?
I have read that crop circles usually appear in summer and it seems that the themes vary from year to year, so it is thought that they might be conveying a message of sorts regarding the year's general shift in energy, or the zeitgeist, in a way. So this rebirth theme is quite interesting.
These circles from the past few days are really impressive, it seems like quite a feat to put them together.

Re: what's with Crop Circles?
i remember a few years ago i saw a documentary on how people use to pull pranks and make carefully planned out crop circles.
me not being a firm believer in aliens would assume that it was the crop circle artist/prankster. and have you noticed that when people get more and more interested in them more pop up?

Very true. Humans are ingenious at finding perplexing methods of doing things, so it would seem only natural for a talented person or set of persons would do something if it would make news.

Re: what's with Crop Circles?
Yeah, for the past years investigations over the crop circles have proved it to be a hoax.

Re: what's with Crop Circles?
Obviously these circles are made by artists; I don't believe in the "alien theories", but still they are amazing work, and they do in a way tell a story. As Talibah says, it seems like a lot of hassle to go through just to play a prank.

I think they are likely a resurgence of prior hoaxes. Some clever people reveling in the publicity caused by their nocturnal antics.
