At the height of evil, all things are flipped. What you enjoy hurts, in order to see you must have your eyes closed, to feel free one must serve, and to be mad you must be rational. I sounds like the era of 50-60 years ago along with the Blue Laws.

Of course, it could also be referring to how when truly immersed in darkness, one is not seeing things as a normal person would, but through an altered perception where up is really down, etc.

I appears to have many interpretations, I cannot be certain of its' meanings.

I believe it is making a point of dualism. Think about the examples, but don't think about it TOO much. Does it not make sense?

I GUESS it sort of dose

It appears somewhat Hermetic to me. Where two seemingly different opposites are part of the same thing. Take temperature. Boiling hot and freezing cold appear to be entirely different, but with a perspective shift, are really energy states along the same temperature measurement system.

Opposites tend to come close together

It is Hermetic..... somewhat in the nature of the law of Polarity. But, it also seems to point to the essence of dualism as merely an illusion....the seemingly opposite pairs are really one and the same.
