Question of writing a book...
I am considering writing my own codex or a codex based on the occult arts...I just do not know what to put into it...I have compiled information from about two years of research...I have done some magick workings in the past but I just need some suggestions to maybe where I should begin...what kind of things to put into it...

Re: Question of writing a book...
The act of writing a book on a serious subject such as occult is tough. There are countless stages one must go through before it gets published. I, of course, am no expert on this matter, so I am simply pointing out the general advices anyone would give.
Before you wish to start a book, you must know well the material you want to include within the book. It takes hard work to write something that, amongst the sea of mundane "occult" books, will stand out and be taken seriously.

Re: Question of writing a book...
I don't really want to publish the book...I am looking at making a book compiled of information that may help people in future reference...A book that may be passed down the line... I Am thinking of making a book that will inspire other minds... I sort of know what I can put in it but I seem I am missing something...

Re: Question of writing a book...
Azrael, I have an unpublished trilogy. It will take months of polishing, perfecting and reformatting into what literary agents and publishers are willing to buy as a sellable work. It takes a lot of committment to put ideas to words to paper. To create a book of magic to not publish or at least be widely spread inspires no one and wastes your efforts. One of the most common fantasies among would be writers is that they have an idea for a great book. 99.9% plus of these great books never see an agent's desk because they are never written. I only point out the realities of authorship and do not intend to discourage you. When you have actually written 25,000 words for your book, please post again.
