Genjutsu (Ilusion Technique)
Greetings.
Genjutsu is the Japanese name to describe the Ilusion Technique. If i'm not wrong Ninjas were the ones who created this name but not the technique because i'm sure this already existed in the ancient times, Ninjas probably just discovered it. This technique or techniques use the control of energy and target it on the enemies nervous system. This will confuse the enemy cheating his primary senses, Vision, Smell, Touch... This kind of techniques can be very powerful and can easily torture the enemy leting them in choque and feeling physical pain for a certain period or while traped, not having the conscious of time or space. At least this is what i've read about this. Also i don't find too much information about this subject. I don't know if at the ancient times they used other name to describe this techniques. I would love to know more about this subject since i'm a big fan of Ninjutsu Art. I'd like to know what you know about this subject and if you recommend me some books to teach me this techniques or to teach the base of how they work.

Re: Genjutsu (Ilusion Technique)
Oh.. yeah!! My favorite assasins.. love`m . The art of Ninjutsu (shadow style)忍術
Its a lifestyle performed by the many different clans/organizations in japan centuries ago. Probably you allready got the names of some of the organizations like Suzuki, Mazta, Toyata, Subaru and Mitcibichi(if i spelled that right) and it goes on.
Its origin is from Iga and Koga mountain areas in Japan . The source of the ancient masters knowledge came from T`ang-china and their origin was from the Tantrical wisdom of tibet.
Genjutsu? it required some study I`l had to look it up in my books .
I think the word Xedok was looking for is Ge-nin. they where the agents and the spy at at bottom of their organizatios, trained in combat and espionage. And they where the ones that would actually execute the operations.and the ones we would call a Ninja today.
As i can see Genjutsu is a word used to discribe some of the disiplines in a hole.
Today and for many centuries there are a lot of diciplines the student of Ninjutsu
wil learn from. and the diciplines are as follows;
-Junan Taiso: yoga similar bodyexercise
-Nin-po Taijutsu: unarmed-combat including:
-Taihenjutsu :bodymovement,running and falling
-Dakentaijutsu :kicks and punches
-Jutaijutsu : different chokes, strangulations and throws
-Bojutsu : staff fighting(quarterstaffs exe.)
-Hanbojutsu: short staff fighting
-Ninja ken-po : fighting with the ninja-sword (comprehensive learning)
-Kenjutsu : fencing tecniques
-I-ai-Jutsu: quickness and speed
-Tanto-jutsu: Daggerfight or knife
-Shuriken-Jutsu : throws with different throwing weapons
-Kusari-jutsu : fight with different chain weapons
-Kyuoketsu-Shoge: fight with ring and rope weapons
-Kusarigama: fight with chain and signet weapons
-Teppo : firearms
-Ninki: specialized ninja equipment
-fukiya : breathingpipr and arrow
-Heiho : cambat-strategy
-Gotonpo: use of nature to evasivate and get away
-In-yo-do: teoretical principless
-Seishin Teki kyoyo: personal recognition including
-Meso: Meditation
-Shinpi: Mystical consepts
-Nin-po-mikkyo: hidden knowledge of the universe
-kuji-Kiri: balancing the electro-magnetical force fields
-Kuji-in: channeling enegy
Okey!
My opinion is that the word "Genjutsu" is a combination of some of the diciplines, and in a combination with their knowledge in chemistry it will be a deadly combination capable of obtaining a word like "genjutsu" by commoners or those who do not have the insight in Ninjutsu some hundred years ago.
I hope this was a litle insightful or helpful .
there is also information if you google Bushido.

Ahk-Ba Thank you very very much! i've found it very helpful and interesting! If you have more information to share, please, be my guest!
Thank you again!
Just one more thing, these books you have mentioned it, are theoretical books or technical books ? Do they teach some energy techniques ?

Re: Genjutsu (Ilusion Technique)
There is a litle of everything in each book.
but i`v found the books in the Nina Series(1-4-The nightwariors heritage
-Wariors road to knowledge
-in the shadow wariors spirit
-warior path of togakur)by stephen k. Hayes very insightful.
Because of their teachings you must go and find your nearest ninjutsu senter. It would be dangerous to teach the real heavy tecniques both energybased and tecnical in books.
I gues nobody wants Heavy assasins going around everyvere.
The teaching in energy is alike the ones you wil find in the AB with a touch of assasination and Ninjutsu teachings . i gues the basics are both same and unique.
some of the books are hard to obtain kuz of the year of publication, but you might find some left overs in stores or amazon. maybe there are some used ones also.
The Trainingsenters are very welcoming and both Spain and Portugal got a few. the training is very comprehensive and they wil love to share their ancient knowledge to anyone interested and serious students of ninjutsu.
I wil get beck to you about their modern organizations. and maybe i can look up their adress anf homesite at the web.
