The Higgs Boson

I'm sure you have all heard of the major breakthrough from CERN, and the confirmation of the existence of the "Higgs Boson", a particle that is behind the basic building stones of the Universe, acting as a condensing agent to bring together other particles and create matter.

It's considered proof of "an invisible form of new energy" that is everywhere around us.

I am no physicist, and so I won't even attempt to analyze this. But I believe it's truly fascinating and a real milestone in our understanding of the Universe and its mysteries. Metaphysically speaking, I sense a very profound significance behind this. Could we be facing true scientific proof of the higher planes? Are we finally witnessing the coming together of Science and the Occult?

Any thoughts are welcome.

CERN scares me, as there are things that man need not get his greedy dirty little hands on and mess with. :S

This is very interesting, thanks for bringing it up. I was reading about the Higgs Boson breakthrough from CEARN earlier and its metaphysical/spiritual implications did come to mind. As I'm not knowledgable on quantum physics I really have no idea if this will create a bridge between science and the occult, but it does sound like there may be something there, particularly to the more open minded scientists. I understand that science these days is constantly fencing itself as a field of knowledge while it struggles with the fear of losing control, not having all the answers, being something more out there that science simply can't cope with, explain or control. We may be on the verge of seeing science uncover the first proof on the energy we have all experienced and studied in the occult for such a long time. So much happening all at once in this world!

Naugusta, I see your point. So much can be said about this. CERN and its colossal Large Haldron Collider are scary concepts. But its potential for advance and progress are beyond imagination.

last I heard they had found a particle that COULD be the Higgs Boson, they still weren't sure although they were stating something like a 99.999% chance it was.

in any case, my only fear is this discovery will be used incorrectly to "attack" those of a more religious monotheistic mind set which will ultimately do no one any good.

It's called the "God Particle" because of an old joke: it was so hard to find that originally scientists called it "The goddamn particle". And then it was shortened to "God particle". But many journalists don't know that, and now they are getting a bit too sensationalist
