This is a topic I haven't found on here yet...

This prompts me to ask the question: what does enlightenment mean to you all? ;p

A goal of knowledge or spiritual achievement?

Some definitions...
Google says:
1. The action of enlightening or the state of being enlightened.
2. The attainment of spiritual knowledge or insight, esp. (in Buddhism) that which frees a person from the cycle of rebirth.

Merriam-webster sort of agrees:
1 : the act or means of enlightening : the state of being enlightened.
2 capitalized : a philosophic movement of the 18th century marked by a rejection of traditional social, religious, and political ideas and an emphasis on rationalism —used with THE.
3 Buddhism : a final blessed state marked by the absence of desire or suffering.

So what do all of you think?
