Greetings everyone
Greetings.
I was already registered on the forum... but just now I'm presenting myself.
I'm Kahina and I'm a Asetianist. I'm bellydancer and teacher of Bellydance. Geology student. I love Ancient Egypt...
I am interested in vampirism and everything that is connected to this.
I hope participate in some way in discussions that arise around here. Since that one of the reasons for the delay of my presentation was my very bad English. But I'll try to overcome this barrier.

Welcome Kahina
I'm fascinated with the art of bellydancing myself, so it's great to meet someone who knows a lot about it.

Thank you Daniel09.
Bellydance is an ancient art, and to me, it's sacred.Despite being changing and very spoiled, by the worldwide, in the present days, I have preserved the essence.
It is a very energetic dance, if it is well done.

Hi Kahina and welcome to this community. I am sure you will get along just fine around here and don't worry for your English. As recent developments have proven, it is the contents that matter, the energy and the feelings, not the perfection of your language. Just enjoy your time here and looking forward to hear your thoughts around the threads.

Yes, I understand that. I have found myself perusing sites like youtube trying to find anyone who can do it the way that is "good." Thus far I've run across seemingly half-dances and beginners. ^.^ And of course, I feel that the dance is meant to incorporate more than just women, but males as well, so I find myself in a state of extreme lacking in that department. The world view seems to be that men cannot possibly bellydance, let alone perform a complex dance with women in a fantastic show of energy and beauty.

I don't mean to sound biased or sexist, Daniel, which I am not, but certain things just are.
The energy in bellydancing is exclusively female. There is something about its sinuositu, its allure, that is right only for a woman's body. A male bellydancer can be entertaining, but certainly not for the same reasons as a woman. There will always be a... Vaudeville, drag-queen taste to it.
There are many beautiful forms of dance that communicate much better with male energy, such as the Tahtib in Egyptian tradition, or the male versions of classical ballet and modern dance.

Re: Greetings everyone
I don't know, I just don't feel that way. While certainly it does take a female essence (energy) in the bellydance, a male can have female energy. It doesn't have to appear drag at all, if done correctly.

Re: Greetings everyone
The history of Bellydance a bit unknown about the origin. But as I know, is only women's could danced. In the case of Ancient Egypt, had many occasions where women's gathered and danced. But what I especially appreciate, were the rituals in praise of the goddess Isis, in praise of fertility, the feminine power and sensuality.
Bellydance movements are movements that helped women during the gestation period.
Men only began to dance Bellydance very recently, as well in Ballet.
I don't agree so much with that.
The essence of this dance is feminine.
A man can not give birth, nor has the same energy as women.

Re: Greetings everyone
I have to agree that belly dance done by men is very... unlike what belly dance represents. To me it does give quite a drag feel to it... this is a nice word to describe it, actually. I have always been uncomfortable with men belly dancing, and the word drag seems to be the best word to express what I think of it.
