What is the peak of possible accumulation of "power" within the occult world. Any specific individuals that have been seen to be, having no better words, special.What heights have been attained and what does one strive to attain within the world of the occult. Is it purely knowledge, or is there some sort of unattainable power that one may strive for? To give a silly analogy, as Merlin is seen in pop culture and folklore alike to be the greatest sorcerer to have ever lived, is there some sort of equivalent? Someone or some people that have seemed to achieve the most within occult spheres of knowledge and have been seen to achieve more than anyone else has?

Such lives in secrecy and silence, only mastered beneath the flame of austere practice...

Guano, I think the "peak" varies by the individual goal... Everyone is working to attain different forms of knowledge and/or ability even if some are following the same path/study... There are what one would call supernatural abilities that can be accessed/unlocked, however the amount of people who truly obtain that are few and far between... Are people who have done these things of a different origin? Is it genetics? Sheer will and dedication? The answer to that depends on who you ask... Power is subjective, as is what one considers good or evil... There is no clear cut answer to your question...
